Where did the money go?

KEITH House, Eastleigh's Lib. Dem Council leader, stated that income from land disposal in Eastleigh is only used for new facilities for residents (Daily Echo, Thursday March 27). Could he please inform readers of this paper what exactly the reputed £20 million was spent on which was obtained from the sale of South Street Allotments in Eastleigh? Please also tell us exactly how much was received for the sale of these six hectares. The public who live around South Street have a right to know what has happened to this money - so far they have seen no benefits, just noise, mess, pollution and growing traffic problems.

This is a very good point Andrew. The people of Eastleigh must believe that those elected to serve the people by the people, should have accountability to the people. If there is nothing to hide Mr House then 'show me the money'.

We can only so far account for the following;

£325,000.00 (The Point) 2006-2007
£325,000.00 (The Point) 2007-2008

£3,230 Murder of SID
£0 New park facilities

Is that your allotment? I like it. Where is it?

Yes it is my allotment, in Burns Close - I have 1 1/2 allotments there and find it very relaxing going there to dig or weed or harvest. I have just sown my potatoes, 4 lb Foremost, 4 lb Charlotte and 10 lb of maincrop (just forgotten name). But in particular I love growning fruit. I have 5 apple trees, 3 plum trees, lots of blackcurrants, gooseberries, raspberries and rhubarb. I must stop, this is a political blog.
